An attorney in Dickinson Wright’s Denver office, Per Larsen focuses on patent counseling and domestic and foreign patent prosecution in the electronic and computer arts. He works with technology companies to build and manage patent portfolios and supervises and mentors junior attorneys in their patent practice.
Per’s practice centers on prosecuting technically complex applications. He works closely with inventors and engineering teams to understand the underlying technology and to identify what is meaningfully different from prior art. Much of his work involves shaping arguments through the prosecution process and responding to office actions from patent examiners.
He also prepares claim charts, infringement and validity analyses, and patent clearance opinions.
Before becoming a patent attorney, Per spent more than a decade as a circuit design engineer. During that time, he developed and tested display panel architectures and image processing techniques for liquid crystal displays. He is a named inventor on eight U.S. patents.
