Dickinson Wright is pleased to announce that Per Larsen and Chris Swickhamer have joined the firm’s Denver office as Members.
Per’s practice includes counseling and domestic and foreign patent prosecution in high technology areas such as wireless communications and memory systems. Per works closely with inventors and engineering teams to develop and distill their ideas into distinct technical and patentable concepts. He is focused on the prosecution process and efficiently achieving client targets for protection, leveraging Examiner interviews and robust prior art analysis to advance prosecution. Per’s expertise includes standards essential patents (SEPs), including prosecution and essentiality analysis for licensing of SEPs. Per is recognized as a leader in his field by IAM Patent 1000, LexDana Patent Prosecution Rankings, and Best Lawyers in America “Ones to Watch.” He is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association and the Colorado Bar Association. Per received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington and his J.D. from the University of Colorado Law School.
Chris has extensive experience in patent prosecution, with a focus on standard essential patents (SEPs), wireless communication, artificial intelligence, and computer-related technologies. In his practice, Chris provides strategic counsel to high tech clients and crafts patent protection strategies for high-volume patent portfolios. Chris advises clients on selecting inventions for patent protection, guides inventors to identify key innovative features of their inventions and prosecutes patent applications through issuance in the United States and other major patent jurisdictions. Chris leverages AI tools to effectively and efficiently deliver high quality work product and uses his experience as a former U.S. patent examiner to expertly navigate the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office. Chris is recognized as a leader in his field by IAM Patent 1000 and LexDana Patent Prosecution Rankings. He is a member of INTA’s Patent Committee. Chris received his B.S and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin and his J.D. from George Mason University School of Law.
