Jonathan Koch is a political law attorney and litigator in Dickinson Wright’s Grand Rapids office. He uses his extensive experience handling election-related litigation and political compliance matters to help candidates, political committees, and political parties navigate the complex issues arising at the intersection of law and politics. Jonathan also maintains a robust appellate and litigation practice. He has successfully represented businesses and individuals in a wide range of complex legal disputes, ranging from commercial litigation, defamation, insurance, real estate, and professional negligence. Jonathan is also one of Michigan’s leading appellate lawyers, having handled more than one hundred appeals in Michigan’s state and federal appellate courts and served as a past Chair of the State Bar of Michigan’s Appellate Practice Section.
Before joining Dickinson Wright, Jonathan was a shareholder at a Grand Rapids-based firm where he focused on litigation and election law. He also headed the firm’s appellate practice group. Before that, Jonathan was an appellate associate at a firm in Metro Detroit and served as a judicial law clerk to Michigan Supreme Court Justice David F. Viviano.
