AJ Moss acquires, licenses and enforces rights in all forms of intellectual property including patent, trade secret, trademark and copyright. He has obtained both US and non-US patents in technical fields such as avionic systems, semiconductor device fabrication, chemical-mechanical planarization systems and techniques, semiconductor packaging systems and techniques, computer hardware systems including microcontrollers, memory and radio frequency identification tags, computer software including business method patents, and medical devices.

Three technical areas of particular experience are avionic systems, semiconductor packaging and software. In the field of avionic systems, AJ has represented a major avionic systems company for nearly a decade, in which time he has helped develop a patent portfolio of significant breadth and value including a number of pioneering patents expected to garner substantial licensing revenue over the next decade. In the field of semiconductor packaging, AJ helped lead a team of lawyers in formulating defenses to a claim of patent infringement based on a semiconductor packaging patent. In this capacity, AJ interviewed and deposed authorities in the field, as well as studied thousands of patents and technical documents, thus acquiring a significant breadth of knowledge and experience in the field. In the software field, AJ has prepared hundreds of software patent applications and evaluated hundreds more patents to develop noninfringement and invalidity opinions, as well as assess the value of patent portfolios during due diligence analysis for acquisition of software patent portfolios.

AJ has been involved in several patent litigation matters involving patent infringement and validity determinations in federal court and before the International Trade Commission.

As a former nuclear submarine officer in the US Navy, AJ gained experience in a variety of complex electronic communications systems, as well as in nuclear power plant Partner operation and electrical power generation systems.
