Scott MacDonald and Nicholas Marler Join Dickinson Wright Seattle Office

Dickinson Wright is pleased to announce that Scott MacDonald has joined the firm’s Seattle office as a Member. Nicholas Marler has joined the firm’s Seattle office as an Associate.
Scott is a construction attorney, helping clients navigate public and private construction projects and related disputes. He works with owners, general contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers across the Pacific Northwest on projects ranging from heavy civil infrastructure and transportation work to multifamily housing, schools, hotels, and residential developments. He advises clients on contract structure and negotiation for both traditional and alternative project delivery methods, including GC/CM and design-build. Scott also has extensive experience with state and federal public works projects at all stages—bidding, procurement, contract drafting, risk analysis, on-project claims and requests for equitable adjustment, CPARS evaluations, and disputes under the Contract Disputes Act. Scott represents prime contractors and subcontractors, including 8(a), DBE, and non-DBE entities, on projects for public agencies such as NAVFAC, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and NOAA, both in the U.S. and internationally. Scott is recognized as a leader in his field by Best Lawyers in America “Ones to Watch” and Washington Super Lawyers “Rising Stars.” Scott received his B.A. from Westmont College and his J.D. from Seattle University School of Law.
Nicholas focuses his practice on real estate finance and transactional tax matters. He represents lenders, investors, developers, and businesses in a variety of transactions, including matters related to financing, borrowing, investing, leasing, and related transactions. He works with clients to provide practical, business-minded guidance on complex real estate finance matters. Before joining Dickinson Wright, Nicholas gained significant experience at a Big Four accounting firm in its international tax group, where he advised multinational enterprises on matters involving federal and international tax considerations. Nicholas earned an LL.M. with Distinction in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center. He received his J.D. from Stetson University College of Law, where he served as managing editor of both the Stetson Law Review and the Journal of Aging Law & Policy. He holds a B.S.B.A. from the University of Central Florida.
