Cynthia Alexander Named Chair of Public Interest Law Community Advisory Board, Boyd School of Law

Dickinson Wright PLLC is pleased to announce that Cynthia L. Alexander, member partner in our Las Vegas office, has been named the inaugural Chair of the Public Interest Law Community Advisory Board of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, William S. Boyd School of Law.
The Public Interest Law Community Advisory Board is comprised of local and state leaders from government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and private law firms who have the common goal to enhance the Boyd Law School’s Public Interest Law Program.
Dean Daniel W. Hamilton, Boyd School of Law says, "The law school is fortunate to have Cynthia Alexander as the chair of our Public Interest Law Advisory Board. Cynthia is a proven leader in the community who brings a track record of innovation and success in public service initiatives. Under her leadership, the board will help foster the law school's commitment to serving Nevadans across the state."
Dean Christine Smith, Associate Dean for Public Service, Compliance and Administration says, "We are honored that Cynthia will serve as the inaugural chair of our Public Interest Law Advisory Board. Cynthia's experience and talent will enable the law school to advance its public interest efforts to further impact the citizens of Nevada."
Additionally, Alexander serves as Chair of the Board of Directors of Nevada Public Radio, board member to the Las Vegas Rescue Mission and trustee of the Nevada Bar Foundation. She previously served on the Board of Directors of the Rocky Mountain Innocence Center and S.A.F.E. House, Inc. Earlier this year, she was awarded the Peter Perlman Service Award by the Litigation Counsel of America, in which she is also a fellow. In 2012, she was honored with the Lied Award by the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada for having the most pro bono hours.
“I have strived to serve my community in a way that makes a positive impact. It’s something I’m passionate about,” said Alexander. “I look forward to working with the Public Interest Law Community Advisory Board’s talented and dedicated members to provide guidance to the Boyd Law School’s Public Interest Law Program, as it expands its offerings to the students and the community. I am thrilled to be a part of the growth of the program.”
Alexander is a business litigator at Dickinson Wright. Her practice is concentrated on representation of financial institutions, business entities and their corporate officers and directors, and land owners and developers. She has defended various financial institutions in disputes involving federal and state consumer protection statutes and various common law contract and tort, including lender liability claims. She also handles real estate matters, such as title and escrow disputes, real estate contract and easement disputes and wrongful liens, along with a wide array of business disputes.
