Michael E. Noe

With profound sorrow, we honor Michael Noe, a cherished colleague, member, and celebrated IP attorney, who passed away peacefully this week after a courageous battle with carcinoma.

For over 25 years, Michael built a reputation for enthusiastically and intuitively helping people understand and protect intellectual property, developing a loyal fanbase with one of his long-standing clients referring to him as his “go-to guy for all things IP.” With MBA, engineering and JD degrees, Michael’s strong business, technical and legal acumen enabled him to listen and advise clients to strategically navigate the issues they faced on a daily basis. A member of the State Bar of Texas and admitted to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, Michael prosecuted thousands of U.S. and foreign patents throughout his career and had a strong track record before the Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences.

Michael was also deeply admired for his work in the legal community, dedicating countless pro bono hours to organizations, including helping to create a pro bono office hour program for the Texas A&M University School of Innovation.

Though our hearts ache, we celebrate Michael’s extraordinary legacy at Dickinson Wright: a brilliant lawyer who was a true team player and brought a steady, compassionate presence to our firm. His intellect, integrity, and kindness uplifted our community and inspired all who had the privilege of working with him.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Michael’s wife, Emily, his family, friends, and all who had the honor of knowing and working alongside him. His kindness, integrity, and dedication leave a lasting legacy that will be deeply remembered and profoundly missed.
