Joe Campos advises private, public, and emerging companies on a wide range of business and transactional matters, including company formation, securities law compliance and regulation, financing, governance, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and executive compensation across a broad range of industries, particularly aviation, sports, real estate, technology, manufacturing, and professional services.
Joe has extensive experience in the aviation/aerospace industry. He has negotiated license agreements in the OEM and Parts Manufacturing Approval (PMA) contexts, as well as acquisitions and sales of aerospace parts manufacturing companies. Joe also handles purchases and sales of business aircraft, along with aircraft financing and leasing transactions, assisting clients in structuring transactions to comply with FAR Part 91 and FAR Part 135. He also advises pilots in matters involving FAA enforcement, investigations, and compliance actions.
Much of Joe’s work involves what he calls “strategic lawyering”—helping clients resolve legal issues in a way that supports their broader business goals. While his focus is transactional, he often builds and leads teams that include litigators, insurance professionals, and financial advisors to help ensure his clients’ interests are protected and key business relationships remain intact. His goal isn’t just to win legal disputes—it’s to help clients achieve outcomes that make sense for their business.
Joe is also an experienced entrepreneur. He co-founded a digital media company and led it through a $10 million acquisition by a Seattle-based company, where he later served as VP of Corporate Development and General Counsel. That firsthand business experience shapes the practical, solutions-oriented advice he provides clients today.
Joe also advises clients on sports industry matters, acting as counsel to owners and ownership groups, as well as outside counsel to professional clubs and franchises throughout the United States. He has experience representing clients in matters relating to the purchase and sale of U.S. professional sports teams, representation of majority owners, development of minority ownership groups, and debt and equity financings in a variety of professional leagues, including MLS, MLB, NHL, and La Liga (Spain).
Outside of his legal work, Joe is Executive Director of the Valencia C.F. Academy (Seattle), a non-profit organization and official extension of the Valencia C.F. Academy (Spain), focused on developing top American youth soccer talent.
