Joseph Campos advises private, public, and emerging companies on a wide range of business and transactional matters, including company formation, financing, governance, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, technology licensing, and executive compensation. He also counsels clients on protecting intellectual property and navigating employment law issues.

Joe advises clients on complex sports industry matters, acting as counsel to owners and ownership groups, as well as outside counsel to professional clubs in franchises throughout the United States.  He has considerable experience representing clients in matters relating to the purchase and sale of US professional sports teams, representation of majority owners, development of minority ownership groups and debt and equity financings in a variety of professional leagues, including MLS, MLB, NHL and La Liga (Spain).

A significant part of Joseph’s work involves what he calls “strategic lawyering”—helping clients resolve legal issues in a way that supports their broader business goals. While his focus is transactional, he often builds and leads teams that include litigators, insurance professionals, and financial advisors to ensure his clients’ interests are fully protected and their key business relationships stay intact. His goal isn’t just to win legal disputes—it’s to help clients achieve outcomes that make sense for their business.

Joseph is also an experienced entrepreneur. He co-founded a digital media company, and led it through a $10 million acquisition by a Seattle-based company, where he later served as VP of Corporate Development and General Counsel. That firsthand business experience shapes the practical, solutions-oriented advice he gives clients today.

Outside of his legal work, Joseph is the founder and Executive Director of Eagleclaw Football Club, a youth soccer program in partnership with Valencia C.F., focused on developing top American soccer talent.
