Dickinson Wright is pleased to announce that David Wu has joined the firm’s Silicon Valley office as a Member.
David is a registered patent attorney who helps companies turn innovation into enforceable competitive advantage. A former engineer, he brings deep technical fluency and genuine curiosity to every engagement, partnering with inventors to capture the nuances of their work and build patent portfolios that overcome complex prosecution challenges, withstand litigation, and maximize strategic and commercial value. Beyond portfolio development, David provides mission-critical guidance on freedom-to-operate, competitive IP landscaping, and IP due diligence, helping clients navigate crowded innovation spaces and proactively mitigate IP risk in fast-moving markets.
David’s technical experience spans the frontiers of technology, including AI/ML, AR/VR/MR, autonomous systems, computer vision, computer graphics, blockchain, security, hardware accelerators, medical devices, and next generation mobility and automotive technologies.
David earned his B.S. and M.Eng. in Computer Science from Cornell University and his J.D. from the USC Gould School of Law.
