Lawyer Kristyn Annis Joins Dickinson Wright LLP in Toronto

Dickinson Wright LLP, Canada’s leading full-service business law firm specializing in cross-border counsel, is pleased to announce that lawyer Kristyn Annis has joined the firm’s Toronto office as Of Counsel.
Ms. Annis advises a wide range of clients across the energy sector, and practices Indigenous law, from both a rights and transactional basis.
She advises developers and Indigenous groups on all aspects of renewable and transmission development, including the negotiation of partnerships, financing agreements, permitting and supply and service agreements. From a regulatory perspective, she advises on regulatory developments before the Ontario Energy Board including the development of enabler transmission and distribution expansion.
She also provides strategic policy and legal advice to clients who are seeking to partner with Indigenous groups on procurement matters in the infrastructure and construction industry.
Ms. Annis was previously a partner at a leading national Bay Street law firm and is former in-house counsel for one of Canada’s leading banking institutions where she led a legal department dedicated to syndicated and direct lending, with a particular focus on energy and infrastructure project finance. Her legal expertise is combined with over two years of policy experience as Senior Advisor to the Premier of Ontario and the Minister of Energy in energy, mining and Indigenous affairs.
Ms. Annis received her B. Eng. in civil engineering from McGill University and her LL.B. (French common law) from the University of Ottawa. Ms. Annis is fluent in French and Spanish.
