Grand Rapids Veterans Bar Association Receives the Marion Hilligan Public Service Award

Dickinson Wright PLLC is pleased to announce that Attorney Edward P. Perdue and Thomas Dorwin, Clerk of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Michigan, accepted the Marion Hilligan Public Service Award on behalf of the Grand Rapids Veterans Bar Association during Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School’s Law Day event on May 1, 2019.
“Tom and I are honored to represent the Grand Rapids Veterans Bar Association as they receive the Marion Hilligan Public Service Award,” said Mr. Perdue, Co-Founder and Acting President of the Grand Rapids Veterans Bar Association. “The Grand Rapids Veterans Bar Association is dedicated to providing opportunities for our members to network, volunteer, and mentor other veterans in the legal profession and our community.”
The Marion Hilligan Public Service Award is presented to lawyers who reflect greater individual responsibility in promoting public health and welfare through law and is given in honor of WMU Cooley Grand Rapids campus’ former Associate Dean Marion Hilligan, who passed away in 2007. The Grand Rapids Veterans Bar Association was founded in 2009 by Ed Perdue, Joe Rossi and Brian Lennon. The organization’s goal is to provide networking and service opportunities to local veteran attorneys from all branches of military.
