Dickinson Wright Attorneys Win Pro Bono Prisoner's Rights Case

Dickinson Wright Attorneys Wade Fink, Jessica Russell, Nolan Moody and Brandon Hubbard, with the guidance and support of Frank Ortiz, recently won a favorable verdict in federal court on behalf of their pro bono client, Randall Griffin.
The attorneys represented Mr. Griffin on a pro bono basis, working 1,450 hours on Mr. Griffin’s case over a two year period. Mr. Griffin, a Michigan prisoner, accused three corrections officers at Gus Harrison Correctional Facility in Adrian, Michigan of retaliating against him for his cooperation in an investigation. The jury, found that Mr. Griffin’s First Amendment rights were violated and awarded him both compensatory and punitive damages.
