Amanda V. Letney

Associate

Amanda is an intellectual property associate in Dickinson Wright’s Lansing office. Her practice focuses on patent prosecution and intellectual property litigation, including advising clients on patentability, invalidity, and related IP matters. Amanda also brings in-house experience from her time as Associate General Counsel at a technology company, where she managed a broad range of legal and operational matters, including commercial agreements, AI-related policy development, and intellectual property strategy.

Amanda earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Florida in 2019. She then pursued a Master of Science in Law with a focus on patent law and patent prosecution at Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law, graduating in 2020. Amanda continued her legal education at Florida State University College of Law, where she was a member of the nationally ranked Moot Court team and gained practical experience at a boutique intellectual property firm handling patent prosecution. Amanda previously summered with Dickinson Wright before joining the firm as an associate attorney in 2023 and has since returned to the firm following her role as in-house counsel.

  • Represented the plaintiff in a trademark infringement litigation case in the Eastern District of Michigan, including drafting discovery, document review and production, deposition preparation, drafting Daubert and dispositive motions, preparing trial exhibits, and attending pre-trial conferences. This case settled favorably for the client.
  • Represented the plaintiff in a patent infringement litigation case in the Eastern District of Texas, including assisting in discovery, defending depositions, drafting Daubert and dispositive motions, arguing before the judge at the pre-trial conference, witness preparation, and trial examination. This case settled favorably for the client.
