Toronto Lawyer Wendy Hulton was recently interviewed on City TV.
The interview focuses on Canada’s upcoming legalization of recreational Cannabis and the potential effects it may have on the workplace.
“My biggest concern is maybe with employees that have to drive for a living because again there’s going to be an issue between the recreational use and the accommodation use and employers are going to have to be very careful around that as they are in any sort of safety environment.”
In addition to safety matters, Ms. Hulton brings up a concern about recreational Cannabis in regards to a work function or an office party.
“An off-site party I can very well envision that there would be access to cannabis the same way that there would be access to alcohol. If it’s an on-site party there may be different rules, but the important thing is that the rules have to be clear and everybody needs to understand them.”
