Ryan Lee Joins Dickinson Wright's Nashville Office

Dickinson Wright PLLC is pleased to announce that Attorney Ryan A. Lee has joined the firm’s Nashville office as Of Counsel.
Mr. Lee advises owners, general contractors, subcontractors, design professionals, and suppliers in various construction-related litigation matters including disputes related to design and construction defects, mechanics’ and materialmen’s liens, contractor licensing, and Prompt Pay act and other payment issues. In addition, he drafts and negotiates many types of construction, development, design, and related contracts. Mr. Lee has guided clients throughout all stages of litigation from pre-litigation negotiations through trial and has successfully argued appeals before all three divisions of the Tennessee Court of Appeals as well as the Tennessee Supreme Court.
In addition to his construction practice, Mr. Lee has significant commercial litigation and government regulatory experience based on his time in private practice in Chicago and as an Assistant Attorney General in the Tennessee Attorney General’s Office. At the State, Mr. Lee represented state agencies in regulatory and litigation matters involving insurance licensing, utilities, and constitutional challenges. He also served as regulatory counsel for the Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System’s alternative investment portfolio where he negotiated complex commercial agreements for private equity, strategic lending and real estate transactions and served as general counsel for the Tennessee State Funding Board, Tennessee State School Bond Authority, and the Tennessee Local Development Authority.
Mr. Lee is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association-Construction Section, the Tennessee Association of Construction Counsel (TACC), and the ABA Construction Forum. He received his B.S.E. from Princeton University and his J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law.
