Dickinson Wright LLP, Canada’s leading full-service business law firm specializing in cross-border counsel, is pleased to announce that Geoffrey G. Farr has joined the firm’s Toronto office as a Partner.
Mr. Farr brings over 25 years of exceptional corporate and securities law experience. His practice has focused primarily on advising public companies, as both internal and external legal counsel, on all forms of financing and an extensive range of corporate transactions, as well as the disclosure and corporate governance requirements involved in being a public company. He works with clients on equity and debt financings (by private placement or prospectus), corporate governance, continuous disclosure filings, compliance matters relating to securities and corporate law, stock exchange listings including reverse takeovers, dealings with stock exchanges and securities commissions, corporate reorganizations including arrangements and restructurings, take-over bids, and independent committees.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Farr served for eight years as General Counsel to a publicly-traded gold mining company with stock exchange listings in both Toronto and New York. In this role, he gained extensive experience in compliance, corporate governance and internal management matters, and he worked closely as Corporate Secretary and advisor to the board and management. Mr. Farr received his Bachelor of Commerce from Queen’s University and his LL.B. from the University of Ottawa.
