William J. Hurles

William has more than ten years’ experience in all areas of intellectual property law, including domestic and international patent, trademark and copyright matters. He has significant experience in filing and prosecuting patent and trademark applications before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He also counsels clients on the avoidance of competitor intellectual property rights while bringing new products to the market. He also represents clients in patent validity challenging proceedings, including inter partes review and ex parte reexamination proceedings. He also specializes in representing clients in relation to Amazon® product listings, including Amazon Patent Evaluation Express (APEX) program proceedings. 

William represents clients in a wide range of technology areas include automotive products, medical devices, consumer products and sporting goods. 

Outside of his primary practice, William volunteers his time working with start-up companies, non-profit organizations and students in intellectual property related matters. He also spends time representing the firm’s pro bono clients.
