Vijay G. Brijbasi

Mr. Brijbasi focuses his practice on representing sophisticated and technology-oriented clients with respect to intellectual property, cybersecurity, unfair competition, and general business matters. In addition, he has litigated several complex commercial, intellectual property, and computer fraud cases in both state and federal courts. Mr. Brijbasi also has experience in representing financial institutions and has handled numerous litigation matters for same on claims for indebtedness and a variety of lender liability issues. Due to his experience as former Senior Staff Attorney at the Supreme Court of Florida, Mr. Brijbasi also regularly litigates appeals in a variety of practice areas.

Successfully briefed and defended a patent infringement appeal before the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, resulting in an opinion on the use of technology tutorials in patent infringement cases

Successfully obtained permanent injunction against trademark infringement on behalf of Florida's largest interior design studio and furniture gallery

Successfully obtained permanent injunction against patent and trademark infringement in case for owner of patent for military-grade bullet-resistant glass used in armored vehicles

Obtained favorable judgment in patent infringement case in defense of manufacturer of polymer-based flooring material

Prosecuted claim against former employee of engineering company for misappropriation of trade secrets and violations of the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act and Stored Communications Act

Defended claim for misappropriation of trade secrets and unfair competition in case where former employee was accused of misappropriating trade secrets created during a tenure of employment

Investigated claim for recovery of copyrighted material pursuant to a security agreement on behalf of a major financial institution

Prosecuted claim for trademark infringement on behalf of an international manufacturer of nutritional supplements

Successfully defended an appeal (including oral argument) related to the recovery of collateral and indebtedness on behalf of a major financial institution, resulting in a significant recovery
Prosecuted claim for indebtedness against interactive entertainment outlet

Prosecuted claim for breach of contract related to provision of health care services between health care staffing company and provider of online health care-related services, resulting in favorable judgment

Defended shareholder dispute on behalf of a franchisor

Defended claim for breach of contract for and prosecuted claim by manufacturer of beauty products for breach of non-disclosure agreement due to the misappropriation of proprietary business information and trade secrets

Prosecuted claim by overseas financial institution related to wire transfers fraudulently re-routed abroad to a location in Florida
