M. Ryder Lee

Ryder’s practice is focused on commercial litigation in the construction and entertainment industries.  He also advises individuals and businesses in a wide range of transactional intellectual property and entertainment matters, including the protection and licensing of intangible assets and general business matters. 

In his construction practice, Ryder works with parties engaged in all aspects of the construction process, from owners and designers to contractors and suppliers.  His construction litigation experience is primarily in defect claims and contract/payment disputes involving large-scale industrial manufacturing projects.  

Ryder has particularly deep experience in the entertainment industry. With an extensive background in the music business prior to his legal career, he advises and represents a wide range of stakeholders in the industry, including artists, publishers, labels, managers, promoters, and entrepreneurs involved in new and evolving media or disruptive business models.  

Ryder is licensed to practice in all Tennessee state courts and the Federal District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee. He is a member of the Tennessee Association of Construction Counsel and has served on the Executive Council of the Entertainment and Sports Law Section of the Tennessee Bar Association.
