Alexandria Seydel, an associate in Dickinson Wright’s Chicago office, uses her skills and experience to help local companies in the sectors of social innovation, impact investing, and for-profit socially driven entities grow and create profit with purpose.
In her practice, Alex works with clients to transform their for-profit businesses into benefit corporations (B Corp) and limited liability companies (LC3), ensuring their ongoing compliance with reporting requirements under the state laws that regulate their status. She helps these clients achieve the certification they need to receive recognition for the social benefits generated by their businesses.
In addition to her work with B Corps and LC3s, Alex advises a broad range of businesses on corporate governance and M&A transactions. She also assists both borrowers and lenders in facilitating and financing business operations.
Prior to attending Chicago-Kent College of Law, Alex spent several years working in the banking and mortgage industry as a mortgage consultant and credit manager, as well as serving as a legal assistant with a real estate property tax law firm. Her experience on the client side of the industry – and the skills she gained in communication, listening, and understanding the objectives of your clients – guides her relationships with the business owners and managers she represents, who appreciate her responsiveness and understanding of their needs and goals.
Alex is devoted to engaging with women around Chicago, working directly with several women’s professional networks dedicated to encouraging young women to push their boundaries and embrace their strengths. She sits on the Executive Board of the The Chicago Fire Foundation Associate’s Board, the charitable arm of the Chicago Fire Major League Soccer Team, working to enhance the lives of disproportionately-impacted youth throughout Chicagoland. She lives in River Forest with her golden retriever, Thumper.
