Dickinson Wright is pleased to announce that Kris Beecher (Associate, Phoenix) has been elected Chair of the State Bar of Arizona’s Executive Council for the Indian Law Section. “I’m thrilled to be named Chair of the Indian Law Section and look forward to working with our leadership and members to continue to advocate and support our mission,” says Kris.
The State Bar of Arizona’s Indian Law Section works to advance the understanding, study, adoption, application, interpretation, improvement of federal laws, tribal laws, state laws, rules, and regulations that pertain to Indians, to Indian tribes, or to Indian country, and to their administration and enforcement. Additionally, the Indian Law Section encourages the education of the general public, both Indian and non-Indian, with respect to the application of laws and legal procedures of particular relevance to the Indian communities and governments.
Kris is an Associate in Dickinson Wright’s Commercial and Business Litigation practice group. He is an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation and a graduate of the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law and W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University, holding a Juris Doctor/MBA joint degree and a certificate in Indian Law. Kris is a member of the Navajo Nation Bar Association and completed a 3-year term as Chairman of the Board of the largest public housing authority in Indian Country, and nearly the 8th largest in the United States.
