Kris Beecher Named Co-Facilitator for Arizona State University’s Inaugural Cohort of the Indigenous Leadership Academy

Dickinson Wright PLLC is pleased to announce that Kris Beecher was named a co-facilitator for Arizona State University’s American Indian Policy Institute’s inaugural cohort of the Indigenous Leadership Academy. Beecher, an Associate in the Dickinson Wright Phoenix office, will be co-facilitating modules two through nine alongside Jolyana Begay-Kroupa, Interim CEO at the Phoenix Indian Center.
The Indigenous Leadership Academy is the first of its kind, focusing on emerging leaders from 11 tribes. The goal of the Academy is to work with emerging Indigenous leaders from throughout Arizona by expanding their knowledge, skills, and networks to address long-term issues faced by Indigenous governments, communities, associations, and corporations, located within the state of Arizona. The program will inspire and motivate participants in how to execute strategies and lead change. There is no comparable program in the Nation.
Beecher is an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation and is a graduate of ASU’s Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law and W.P. Carey School of Business and holds a Juris Doctor/MBA joint degree. Kris is a member of the Navajo Nation Bar Association and served a 3-year term as Chairman of the Board of the largest public housing authority in Indian Country, and nearly the 8th largest in the United States. Kris holds a BA in Political Science and a certificate for Political Entrepreneurship from ASU where he graduated summa cum laude with a Minor in Communication and holds a certificate in Indian Law from ASU Law. Kris’ practice areas include Business & Commercial litigation and Indian law. He currently serves as an Advisory Board member for ASU’s School of Politics and Global Studies.
