Music Row Attorneys Close Big Loud Shirt Industries & Round Hill Music Joint Venture/Rodney Clawson Partial Catalog Sale and Go-Forward Agreements

The Music Row office of Dickinson Wright has announced that the firm’s Music Row-based Entertainment, Sports, and Media Practice Group recently closed the partial catalog sale and go-forward agreements between songwriter Rodney Clawson and firm client Big Loud Shirt Industries and their joint venture partner Round Hill Music.
The transaction includes parts of Clawson’s song catalog, which consists of 398 songs including several #1 Billboard Airplay songs. Some of the hits include:
• “Confession”, “Dirt”, “May We All”, and “Sippin’ on Fire” by Florida Georgia Line
• “Bartender” by Lady Antebellum
• “American Kids” by Kenny Chesney
• “Helluva Life” by Frankie Ballard
• “You Look Like I need a Drink” by Justin Moore
Throughout his career, Clawson has also written songs for Faith Hill, Blake Shelton, Jake Owen, Jason Aldean, Chris Lane and Luke Bryan. In total, Clawson has achieved 23 #1’s on Billboard’s Country Airplay charts, and has won several awards including the 2013, 2014, and 2015 Academy of Country Music Award for Songwriter of the Year, as well as both Nashville Songwriters Association International and BMI’s awards for songwriter of the year.
Dickinson Wright Member Derek Crownover and Music Row attorneys Cam Caldwell and Austen Adams represented Big Loud Shirt Industries in the transaction. Michael Selverne of New York represented Round Hill’s closing team.
