Members of the Firm have represented lenders and borrowers in connection with thousands of loans representing billions of dollars of loans secured by diverse commercial, industrial warehouse, self-storage, multifamily apartments, manufactured housing, retail shopping centers and regional malls, hotel properties, and nursing home/assisted living facilities, and wind and energy facilities among others.
Members of the firm are active in a variety of finance-related organizations, such as the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA), Commercial Real Estate Finance Council [formerly the Commercial Mortgage Securities Association (CMSA)], Mortgage Industry Standards Maintenance Organization, and the American College of Mortgage Attorneys (ACMA), and frequently make presentations and publish articles related to our expertise in this area. We have developed unique proprietary transaction management and document automation software that allows us to deliver cost-effective, efficient services.

Some of the areas of expertise within the finance practice include:
  • Assisting with conventional commercial mortgage loans, construction loans, middle market and large corporate loans secured by real estate, sale-leaseback transactions and ground lease transactions.
  • Helping with capital markets or commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) loans; Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac multifamily and manufactured housing loans and bond and tax-exempt financing.
  • Providing counsel on all aspects of commercial lending disputes, loan modifications, asset recovery, workouts and restructurings, deeds-in-lieu, foreclosures, including significant bankruptcies, national workouts, and real estate owned dispositions.
  • Developing and managing national lending programs (including 50-state-compliant loan documentation).
