Lawyer Wendy Hulton Comments on Canada's CASL for Crain's Cleveland Business

On July 1st, Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) went into effect. The result is there are many companies in the U.S. that have questions about CASL and how it will impact their marketing efforts in Canada.

In Crain’s Cleveland Business article, “Canada’s spam ruling could affect local companies,” Dickinson Wright Lawyer Wendy Hulton mentions the exceptions to the law and how companies can keep track of expiration dates for a bunch of different customers. “You’re better off if you can get those customers to give “express consent” saying that they are OK with receiving electronic marketing messages,” she says.
