Attorney Scott MacGriff Profiled in American Lawyer

Scott MacGriff, a member of the firm’s government investigations and securities enforcement group, was recently profiled by American Lawyer for the article “After 36 Months in Afghanistan, Ex-Partner Returns to Big Law.”

In the article, Scott talks about his time with the US Department of Justice and his decision to return to Dickinson Wright. During his time with the federal government, he served in the Justice Department’s National Courts Section, which litigates government contract disputes and prosecutes fraud cases.

He also served as a Justice Department attaché in Afghanistan, a role that lasted three years, from 2012 to 2015. Scott spent about 18 months as a legal attaché in the war-torn country’s capital of Kabul. He acted as a liaison between the Justice Department and U.S. embassy in the city, after first serving as a senior legal adviser and deputy attaché.
