Stocker II was recently named Treasurer of the prestigious group of global gaming attorneys, the International Masters of Gaming Law (IMGL). The International Masters of Gaming Law (IMGL) is a non-profit association of attorneys, gaming regulators and gaming executives dedicated to the education, advancement of the gaming law profession and exchange of professional information concerning the local and global practice and development of all aspects of gaming law. Mr. Stocker, a Lansing resident, has represented numerous gaming entities. He has advised them on Michigan law related to securing operator's licenses and gaming supplier licenses and played a key role in obtaining Circuit Court reversal of the Michigan Gaming Control Board's denial of an occupational license to a license applicant and thereby placed practical parameters on the discretion of the Board to deny licenses based upon interpretation of data provided by license applicants. Mr. Stocker is the co-author The Michigan Gaming Law Legal Resource Book, currently in its second edition. General membership of the IMGL is by invitation only to attorneys that distinguish themselves as having at least five years of gaming law experience; are able to demonstrate skills or knowledge that distinguish their performance as a gaming attorney; have a substantial gaming clientele and participate in philanthropic, charitable or educational programs related to the gaming industry.
