Dickinson Wright gaming attorney Robert W. Stocker II, has been elected to serve a second term as President of the International Masters of Gaming Law (IMGL). The election was held at the organization's gaming law conference in Berlin, Germany. Mr. Stocker is an internationally renowned practitioner who specializes in the startup and operation of land-based casinos, representation of gaming equipment manufacturers, and design of gaming laws and regulations for emerging gaming jurisdictions. The IMGL is a nonprofit association of attorneys, gaming regulators, consultants and executives dedicated to gaming law education, advancement of the gaming law profession and exchange of professional information concerning the local and global practice and development of all aspects of gaming law. It is the world's largest conglomeration of gaming attorneys, with more than 200 by-invitation-only members from over 30 countries who are recognized by their peers as the leading gaming professionals in their respective jurisdictions. It is the leading publisher of gaming-specific legal publications, including Casino Lawyer Magazine and Canadian Gaming Lawyer Magazine. In addition, Gaming Law Review and Economics is an official legal publication of the IMGL. IMGL's members have written numerous articles that have appeared in a wide variety of trade journals and law school law review publications, as well as authoring a three-volume international gaming law treatise published by the IMGL. The IMGL sponsors two gaming law conferences each year in North America and Europe, as well as law school symposiums, and is the gaming law panel's planner and speaker source for a variety of national and international gaming conferences. Mr. Stocker's international practice focuses on gaming, regulatory, corporate and alternative insurance programs law. He is the Chair of Dickinson Wright's 30-member Gaming Practice Group; an editorial board member of Gaming Law Review and Economics; the Chair of the American Bar Association annual Gaming Law Minefield conference held in Las Vegas; and an adjunct professor at the Thomas M. Cooley Law School, where he teaches Gaming Law, Business Planning and Business Organizations. Mr. Stocker is recognized by Chambers Global as a "Leader in the Field" of gaming law. He also is recognized by Best Lawyers in America for his expertise in gaming, administrative and government relations law. In addition to editing and co-authoring "The Michigan Gaming Law Legal Resource Book" and the soon-to-be published "Regulation of Gaming in Michigan: A Practice Guide," Mr. Stocker has authored numerous articles on gaming laws and regulations for gaming publications and law school law reviews. He is a frequent speaker on gaming, business and alternative insurance issues at national and international conferences and education programs.
