Grand Rapids, Mich. (March 1, 2007) – Nationally recognized real estate and construction law expert John G. Cameron, Jr. has joined Dickinson Wright PLLC in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Samborn, Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Cameron joins Dickinson Wright from Warner Norcross & Judd, where he has practiced since 1978. As an expert in real estate transactions and construction law, Mr. Cameron has provided counsel to clients involved in virtually all aspects of the real estate development process. "Dickinson Wright's real estate practice continues to experience significant growth, both regionally and nationally," Mr. Samborn said. Mr. Cameron is active in national real estate organizations, including as an elected member of the American Law Institute and the American College of Real Estate Lawyers. He is a member of the Real Estate Board of Advisors to the ALI-ABA and previously was a member of the National Board of Editors of The Practical Real Estate Lawyer. He has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America since 1996 and was named a Top 100 Super Lawyer in the 2006 edition of Michigan Super Lawyers. Mr. Cameron's community involvement activities include serving on the Board of Trustees of the Mary Free Bed Hospital and Rehabilitation Center, currently as Chairman. He serves as a fellow for the Michigan Bar Foundation. Mr. Cameron formerly served as a director of the Urban Institute for Contemporary Art, and also has served as an adjunct professor of real estate at Grand Valley State University and Grand Rapids Community College. He holds a B.A. degree from Albion College and a J.D. degree, cum laude, from Wayne State University Law School. After a clerkship at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit with the Honorable William H. Webster, Mr. Cameron began his legal career in Chicago at the firm of Isham, Lincoln & Beale, after which he joined Warner Norcross & Judd in Grand Rapids. He is a member of the State Bars of Michigan, Illinois, North Carolina and Colorado, and is a frequent speaker and author on real estate and construction law issues. His authorship of Michigan Real Property Law: Principles and Commentary (Michigan ICLE) (1st Edition 1985, 2nd Edition 1993 and 3rd Edition 2005), commonly known as "Cameron on Real Estate," contributed to his standing as one of Michigan's best-known real estate lawyers. Mr. Cameron also wrote the definitive three-volume treatise on Michigan real estate transactions entitled Michigan Real Estate: Forms and Practice (LexisNexis, 1988) and the 50-state treatise on construction law, A Practitioner's Guide to Construction Law (ALI-ABA 2000). Mr. Samborn noted that Mr. Cameron is one of six new Members to join Dickinson Wright in Grand Rapids within the past six months. The others are Frank G. Dunten, Carl Oosterhouse, Patrick A.
