Dickinson Wright Pro Bono Efforts Highlighted in Michigan Lawyers Weekly

Recently Dickinson Wright announced a new pro bono initiative with a statewide network of resolution centers to provide collaborative pro bono mediation. On September 4, 2015, Michigan Lawyers Weekly highlighted the firm’s initiative in the article, ‘Best of both worlds’: Large-scale volunteer effort underway’.

Dickinson Wright Attorney and Pro Bono Coordinator Sherry O’Neal Taylor spoke to Michigan Lawyers Weekly about the decision to join forces with the Community Dispute Resolution Program Centers in Michigan. “We figured this would be a great opportunity, not only to get some training in mediation, but also to get more attorneys involved in pro bono cases across the state,” says Taylor.

The alliance comes one year after Robert Mathis, the pro bono service counsel for the State Bar of Michigan, issued a memo regarding the Voluntary Standard and Pro Bono Policy.
