Member and Chief Diversity Officer W. Anthony Jenkins Appointed to NCAA Committee

August 31, 2011
W. Anthony Jenkins, member and Chief Diversity Officer at Dickinson Wright, PLLC, was appointed to the NCAA Division I Infractions Appeals Committee. His service will begin on September 01, 2011, and continue through September 01, 2014.

Each NCAA division has its own infractions appeals committee and they are independent bodies that serve as the optional but final step in the rules enforcement process.

The NCAA enforcement program strives to maintain a level playing field for the more than 400,000 student-athletes. Commitment to fair play is a bedrock principle of the NCAA. The NCAA upholds that principle by enforcing membership-created rules that ensure equitable competition and protect the well-being of student-athletes at all member institutions.

The committees are made up of representatives from the membership and general public(one member). The public representative is normally a lawyer with no connection to the NCAA. There are five members on each committee and serve three-year terms, up to nine years.
