M. Kimberly Stagg Joins Dickinson Wright's Nashville Office

Former Nissan Senior Counsel Expands Automotive Industry Practice Dickinson Wright PLLC today announced that M. Kimberly (Kim) Stagg will join the firm's Nashville office, located at 424 Church Street, Suite 1401, in the Fifth Third Center. Ms. Stagg is an automotive industry specialist who focuses her practice on troubled automotive supplier workouts, contracts, and corporate and regulatory matters. Before joining Dickinson Wright, Ms. Stagg served as Senior Counsel to Nissan North America, Inc. at its Nissan Americas headquarters in Tennessee and at various manufacturing sites. She acted as lead attorney for numerous significant transactions and commercial, litigation and regulatory matters, including international and domestic strategic planning projects, contract negotiations and settlements. Her responsibilities included bankruptcy and out-of-court workout matters, corporate divestitures, outsourcing arrangements, minority ventures, environmental matters, corporate compliance, real property transactions and state incentive negotiations. Among her recent accomplishments at Nissan was the formulation and implementation of a cross-functional group to respond strategically and proactively to automotive industry restructuring activities. Ms. Stagg has worked for Harwell Howard Hyne Gabbert & Manner in Nashville, Tennessee, where she represented health care, manufacturing and financial clients in various commercial transactions, restructuring activities, employment matters and litigation. She served as a Judicial Bankruptcy Clerk for The Honorable Aleta A. Trauger and The Honorable Richard S. Stair, Jr. in the Middle District and Eastern District of Tennessee, respectively, and was a Law Clerk for the U.S. Department of Justice, Environment and Natural Resources Division, General Litigation Section. Ms. Stagg also has held various positions as a Certified Public Accountant with E.I. DuPont de Nemours & Co., including Tax Analyst, Biotechnology Cost Analyst and Staff Auditor. In these roles, she conducted financial and business analysis; developed annual forecasts, cost controls, and information accuracy programs; supervised internal audits at corporate and joint venture sites throughout the United States and Puerto Rico; coordinated with public accounting firms on annual external audits; and managed internal investigations. Ms. Stagg earned her J.D. from The University of Tennessee College of Law, where she was Managing Editor of the Tennessee Law Review and was Order of the Coif. She has a B.S.B.A. degree in accounting, also from The University of Tennessee. She serves on the Board of Directors for the American Red Cross's Nashville Chapter, and is a member and supporter of various professional and community associations. Dickinson Wright's Nashville office, where Ms. Stagg will practice, is the result of a recent merger with Nashville law firm Stewart, Estes & Donnell, PLC, and expands Dickinson Wright's national presence in the automotive practice, as well as the key areas of litigation and employment law.
