Las Vegas Gaming Attorney Jeffrey Silver Joins Dickinson Wright PLLC

Dickinson Wright is pleased to announce that Las Vegas gaming attorney Jeffrey Silver is joining the firm as Of Counsel.

Mr. Silver has represented and worked for several casino companies during his 40-year career. He has been involved in every aspect of gaming, liquor licensing and regulatory law, as well as planning and zoning matters, contractor licensing and transportation law.

Mr. Silver’s representative clients include Gaming Laboratories International, Dubai World, Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority, Tuscany Hotel & Casino, Riverside Resort (Laughlin, NV), Grand Sierra Hotel & Casino (Reno, NV), Century Gaming Technologies, Bell Trans, and Ryan’s Express. He has testified before the Nevada Legislature and U.S. Congressional sub-committees on gaming law issues and has consulted on gaming regulatory matters in several jurisdictions.

Mr. Silver’s legal experience includes time as Clark County Chief Deputy District Attorney and a term on the state Gaming Control Board from 1975 to 1979. He has held executive-level positions at the Landmark, Riviera and Caesars Palace.

Mr. Silver is a Member, Counsellor and former President of the International Association of Gaming Advisors (IAGA); Member and former Chairman of the Las Vegas Metro Chamber of Commerce; Vice-Chairman of the National Museum of Law Enforcement and Organized Crime (Mob Museum); Board Member for Las Vegas Events; Secretary and Director for Las Vegas FBI Citizens Academy Alumni Association; and former Secretary and Director of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA).

Mr. Silver was named a “Lawyer of the Year” designee in the 2012, 2013 and 2015 editions of Best Lawyers in America. He is regularly listed as one of Nevada’s pre-eminent gaming law practitioners by Chambers USA, America’s Leading Lawyers for Business (Tier 1). His name appears among the distinguished attorneys listed in Mountain State Super Lawyers, including being listed in the Top 100 for 2013 and 2014, and Nevada Super Lawyers.

Mr. Silver received his B.S. from Northwestern University and his J.D. from the University of San Diego Law School.
