James M. Burns Joins Dickinson Wright as Member

Dickinson Wright PLLC is pleased to announce that James M. Burns has joined the firm as a Member in the firm's Washington, D.C. office. Mr. Burns will be the Co-Leader of the firm's Antitrust Practice.
Mr. Burns brings over 25 years of antitrust law experience to the firm. He has litigated antitrust and related claims in trial and appellate courts all across the country, and also has an active merger compliance and antitrust counseling practice. While Mr. Burns has represented clients in a wide range of industries, he has particularly extensive experience in the representation of health care and insurance industry clients in antitrust matters. Prior to joining Dickinson Wright, Mr. Burns was the Chair of the Antitrust Practice Group at Williams Mullen PC.
Mr. Burns is an American Bar Association Fellow and has served in the leadership of the American Bar Association's Antitrust Section for many years. He is currently the Vice Chair of the ABA Antitrust Section's Legislative Committee, and previously served as the Chair of the Antitrust Section's Insurance Industry Committee. Mr. Burns is also the Chair of the Commercial Litigation Antitrust Practice Group at DRI and serves on the Editorial Board of the BNA Pharmaceutical Law & Industry Reporter. Mr. Burns writes extensively on antitrust issues in the trade press, and is also a co-author of the ABA's Insurance Antitrust Handbook (first and second editions) and a contributing author to the ABA's antitrust treatise, Antitrust Law Developments (sixth edition).
Mr. Burns is a member of the District of Columbia Bar and the State Bar of California. Mr. Burns earned an A.B., cum laude, from Colgate University and a J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law.
