Veteran Labor Attorney James B. Perry Joins Dickinson Wright's Labor & Employment Practice

DETROIT, MICHIGAN - Another leader in the legal field has joined Dickinson Wright PLLC. James Samborn, CEO, announced that veteran labor attorney James B. Perry has become a member in the firm's Detroit office. "I am honored and humbled to join a firm that has had so many tremendous lawyers for over 120 years," Perry said. "I believe Dickinson Wright has the depth and capacity to satisfy the varied legal needs of my clients." Perry has practiced labor and employment law on behalf of employers for 25 years, focusing on employment litigation defense, labor contract negotiation, and management training programs. He has represented a wide variety of employers, including automotive and aerospace suppliers, automotive dealerships, educational institutions, health care facilities, manufacturing companies, private clubs, and restaurants. He brings many of these clients with him to Dickinson Wright. Prior to joining Dickinson Wright, Perry was a shareholder and Vice President of Abbott, Nicholson, Quilter, Esshaki & Youngblood. While with the firm, he served on the Board of Directors for 15 years, as President from 1994-97, and as Chairman of the Labor and Employment Law Practice Group from 1993-98. Since receiving his J.D. from Emory University in 1977, Perry has been admitted to the State Bar of Michigan, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, the United States Supreme Court, and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. Perry has written articles and lectured on a wide variety of employment law topics and has taught labor law courses for Ferris State University and Madonna College. Perry is an active University of Michigan alumnus and fervent Wolverine supporter.
