Dickinson Wright Welcomes Intellectual Property Attorney Kevin R. Spivak to the Firm's Washington, D.C. Office

Kevin R. Spivak, an experienced patent attorney noted for his representation of domestic and global technology corporations, has joined Dickinson Wright PLLC as a member in the Intellectual Property Group. Mr. Spivak practices in the firm's Washington, D.C. office and concentrates his practice in patent prosecution, counseling, portfolio management, and litigation support for a wide variety of technology companies. Mr. Spivak is known for his expertise in managing and securing intellectual property rights in an extensive array of technical fields, including semiconductors, networks, switching systems, Internet applications, and computer hardware and software. Licensed to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, he has drafted and prosecuted foreign and domestic patent applications for technologies involving mobile devices, VoIP, Internet telephony, optics, display and DVD applications, GPS navigation devices and software and business methods. He also has worked on a wide variety of gaming devices, including the technology behind graphical interfaces, controllers, slot machines, and interactive handheld and computer implemented devices. Mr. Spivak also managed more than 1,000 patent applications for just one of his client portfolios, and he has filed numerous patents under the Patent Cooperation Treaty. He also has provided support for clients on numerous patent litigation and licensing negotiations, including cases before district and federal courts and the International Trade Commission. Before completing law school, he served as a Patent Examiner in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, specializing in computer-related technologies.
