Detroit, Mich., May 2, 2007 – Dickinson Wright attorney Frank T. Mamat has been named to the Board of Directors of the Michigan Infrastructure & Transportation Association (MITA). MITA is a statewide construction trade association formed in 2005 through the merger of Associated Underground Contractors and the Michigan Road Builders Association. The membership consists of nearly 800 Michigan companies representing construction disciplines such as road and bridge, sewer and water, utility, railroad, excavation and specialty construction. Mamat's areas of practice emphasis include construction law, labor and employment relations and corporate governance. He is experienced in federal and state OSHA regulations, union contract negotiations and organizing attempts, and unfair labor practice litigation. He served in the Executive Office of the President of the United States, Inquiries/Comments, and as Senior Counsel in the National Labor Relations Board, General Counsel's Office, Division of Enforcement Litigation, Washington, D.C. Other professional and community involvement activities include the following: Member, American Bar Association; Member, Federal Bar Association Labor Law Committee, 1976–present; Member, Florida Bar Association Labor Law Committee; American Employment Law Council; American Society of Employers—Vice Chairman, 2002; Chairman, 2003–present; Construction Code Commission of Michigan—Member, 1993–present; Chairman, 1999–present; Construction Finance Management Association—Board of Directors, 2001–present; Michigan Association of Home Builders—State Board of Directors, 1996–present; National Labor Relations Board—Member, Committee on Practice and Procedure, Region 7; and Anti-Defamation League—Board of Directors, 1990–present. Mamat holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Rochester and a J.D. degree from the Syracuse University College of Law. He is the founding editor of the Michigan Employment Law Letter and a frequent lecturer on labor and OSHA issues.
