Dickinson Wright attorney Frank T. Mamat has been elected national Chairman of the Associated General Contractors Labor and Employment Law Council (AGCLELC). The Council is a network of experienced attorneys who regularly represent AGC chapters or contractor members in labor and employment matters. Originally named the AGC Labor Lawyers Council, the group was formed in 1983 to develop and exchange information, and engage in educational endeavors concerning, aiding and benefiting the construction industry. The Council is now an individually incorporated entity with its own treasury, by-laws, and officers. Mamat is a Member in Dickinson Wright's Detroit office. His areas of practice emphasis include construction law, labor and employment relations and corporate governance. He is experienced in federal and state OSHA regulations, union contract negotiations and organizing attempts, and unfair labor practice litigation. He served in the Executive Office of the President of the United States, Inquiries/Comments, and as Senior Counsel in the National Labor Relations Board, General Counsel's Office, Division of Enforcement Litigation, Washington, D.C. Mamat was recently named to the Board of Directors of the Michigan Infrastructure & Transportation Association (MITA). Mamat, who lives in West Bloomfield, holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Rochester and a J.D. degree from the Syracuse University College of Law. He is the founding editor of the Michigan Employment Law Letter and a frequent lecturer on labor and OSHA issues.
