Leading Labor & Employment Law Attorney Sheryl A. Laughren Joins Dickinson Wright in Detroit

"DETROIT, MICHIGAN, August 14, 2003- Dickinson Wright PLLC recently announced that Sheryl A. Laughren, a leading labor and employment law attorney, has joined the firm as a Member in its Detroit office, enhancing Dickinson Wright's growing practice specialty. Laughren specializes in representing management in employment litigation and traditional labor matters. Laughren's practice emphasizes employment and commercial litigation matters, with a related practice before a variety of state and federal administrative agencies, including the National Labor Relations Board. She also has substantial experience in traditional labor matters including union bargaining and opposing union organizing campaigns. The balance of her practice is dedicated to employer counseling, including in the areas of litigation avoidance, compliance with federal and state employment statutes, personnel policies and procedures and in the drafting of employment, executive compensation, confidentiality, non-compete and employee severance/termination agreements. Laughren is a member of the Board of Trustees and Vice Chair of the Human Services Association Workers' Compensation Fund, a member of the Board of Directors for the Sacred Heart Rehabilitation Center, a member of the Advisory Board to Metro Home Health Care Services, and a former member of the Board of Trustees of the Michigan Quality Council. She also participates on the ABA's sections on Litigation and Labor and Employment Law, and its subcommittee on the Development of the Law under the National Labor Relations Act. Prior to joining Dickinson Wright, she was a Partner in Berry Moorman, P.C. Laughren earned her BBA from Eastern Michigan University (1979) and her JD from Toledo University (1982), where she served as the managing editor of the law review.
