Two Attorneys Join Dickinson Wright's Intellectual Property Practice

"Lisa E. Marks joined the firm as of counsel in the Washington, D.C. office in September. Her practice includes enforcement and defense of patents, licensing, intellectual property-related business transactions, and patent procurement and maintenance strategies. Prior to joining Dickinson Wright, Marks was manager of business affairs for America Online, where she was responsible for structuring and negotiating software licensing and intra-organizational strategic technology deals. She also previously served as an intellectual property attorney with the firm Morrison & Foerster. Marks received her B.S. in computer systems engineering, cum laude, from Howard University in 1993; her M.S. in systems engineering, cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania in 1994; and her J.D. from Columbia University in 1998. She is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the District of Columbia Bar Association, and the American Intellectual Property Law Association. Christopher R. Herter joined the firm's Bloomfield Hills office in November, focusing on intellectual property, licensing, business technology, and general corporate law. Prior to joining Dickinson Wright, Herter was an associate attorney with Butzel Long, P.C., focusing on licensing and real estate law. He earned his B.B.A. in accounting, magna cum laude, from Western Michigan University in 1990 and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School in 1998. He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan's Computer Law Section, the Ohio State Bar Association's Intellectual Property and Real Property Sections, and the American Bar Association.
