DW Attorneys to Present on ADA Amendments and Proposed EEOC Regulations

11/3/2009
Dickinson Wright attorneys David R. Deromedi and Erin J. Stovel will present a seminar on recent changes to The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and proposed regulations by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), what to expect from these changes and how to prepare your workforce. The seminar will be held on November 18, 2009 at Automation Alley (2675 Bellingham) in Troy, Michigan. The seminar begins at 8:45 a.m. with breakfast and registration, and concludes at 10:30 a.m. The seminar will help employers handle changes to the ADA, which was amended and expanded late last year. The EEOC also recently issued its proposed regulations implementing the amendments. Together, these changes in the ADA pose new questions and challenges for all employers when dealing with employees with disabilities. The focus of disability issues will no longer be on whether someone is disabled under the Act, but on all other aspects of the Act. All employers must be prepared to handle this change in the ADA's focus. Attendees can expect to receive an update on the amendments and the proposed regulations, with an emphasis on strategies and tips necessary to guide employers through these new developments.
