DETROIT / ANN ARBOR / BLOOMFIELD HILLS, MICHIGAN, Eight attorneys have recently joined Dickinson Wright PLLC as associates. Matthew S. Carstens joined the firm's Detroit office in September, specializing in commercial litigation, medical malpractice defense, and product liability defense. Previously an attorney with Wildman, Harrold, Allen & Dixon in Chicago, Carstens earned a B.A. degree from the University of Michigan in 1987, a M.A. degree from the American University in 1994, and a J.D. degree, with distinction, from the University of Iowa College of Law in 1998. Sienna D. Dietz joined the firm's Bloomfield Hills office in September. Previously a summer associate with Dickinson Wright, she focuses on commercial lending, real estate, and zoning. Dietz received a B.A. degree from the University of Notre Dame in 1999 and a J.D. degree, cum laude, from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law in 2002. Jeffrey R. Dobson, Jr. joined the firm's Ann Arbor office in August, adding to a recent office expansion. He focuses on transactions in the areas of corporate law, securities, and banking. Dobson received a B.S. degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Michigan State University in 1998 and a J.D. degree from the University of Michigan in 2002. Marie Horton Godush joined the firm's Detroit office in September, specializing in commercial real estate and corporate law. She earned a B.A. degree from the University of Michigan in 1994 and a J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from Wayne State University Law School in 2002. Godush previously worked as a law clerk for Floyd E. Allen & Associates, assisting with employment litigation matters. Tariq S. Hafeez, who also joined Dickinson Wright's Detroit office in September, focuses on transactions, banking, real estate, and general corporate law. He received his B.A. degree in Political Science from the University of Michigan in 1999 and his J.D. degree from the University of Michigan Law School in 2002. Ryan O. Lawlor focuses his practice on bankruptcy and litigation. Previously a summer associate with Dickinson Wright, he joined the firm's Detroit office in September. Lawlor earned a B.A. degree from Michigan State University in 1999 and a J.D. degree from Wayne State University Law School in 2002. Susan L. Loveland joined the firm's Bloomfield Hills office in October, specializing in commercial litigation. She was previously an attorney in the Washington, D.C. branch of Los Angeles-based Latham & Watkins and a law clerk for the Hon. R. Guy Cole, Jr. on the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. Loveland received her B.A. degree, summa cum laude, from Wayne State University in 1997 and her J.D. degree, cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School in 2000. Michael D. Socha joined Dickinson Wright's Detroit office in September. Previously a summer associate with the firm, he focuses on commercial, insurance, and product liability litigation. Socha received a B.A. degree, summa cum laude, in 1999 and a J.D. degree in 2002, both from Wayne State University.
