Dickinson Wright is pleased to announce that it will host a Sunrise Seminar titled “Starting Off on the Right Foot: Tips for a Successful Hiring Process” on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at Automation Alley in Troy.

This seminar will include interviewing tips for employers including legally prohibited questions, effective employment applications, at-will employment, non-compete agreements and background checks. The speakers will also touch on the effect of the Affordable Care Act and immigration laws including the new I-9 forms and the paperless I-94 Cards.

Cynthia A. Moore is a member in Dickinson Wright’s Troy office and is the Practice Department Manager of the Firm’s Domestic Relations, Employee Benefits, Estate Planning, Gaming and Immigration practice areas. Ms. Moore’s areas of practice expertise include employee benefits, executive compensation and taxation.

James B. Perry is a member in Dickinson Wright’s Detroit office. Mr. Perry has 34 years of experience in defending employers from employee and union claims and in collective bargaining on behalf of private and public sector employers.

Elise S. Levasseur is a member in Dickinson Wright’s Troy office. She provides counsel to companies in all areas of immigrant and nonimmigrant visas and assists those encountering USCIS resistance to admission to the U.S. of Canadian or Mexican nationals under NAFTA.
