Dickinson Wright Sponsors T.J. Martell Foundation's 39th New York Honors Gala

Dickinson Wright PLLC was excited to take part in the T.J. Martell Foundation’s 39th Annual Honors Gala in New York on October 21, 2014 at the legendary Cipriani on 42nd Street. The annual fundraiser raised $1.6 million for innovative medical research focused on finding cures for leukemia, cancer and AIDs.

“This year’s Honors Gala was everything we expected it to be and more,” said Laura Heatherly, CEO of the T.J. Martell Foundation. “I am so honored to have been amongst some of the world’s best in business, music and philanthropy during such an exciting night.”

The Gala honored John Paul DeJoria, co-founder of Paul Mitchell Hair Products and Patron Spirits Company, with the Lifetime Humanitarian Award; Afo Verde, Chairman and CEO of Sony Latin, with the Lifetime Music Industry Achievement Award; Will Botwin, President & CEO of Red Light Management, with the Visionary Leadership Award; Marsha Vlasic, President of Artist Group International, with the Spirit of Music Award; and Hard Rock International with the Spirit of Excellence Award.

Dickinson Wright served as a Ruby Sponsor and Nashville Music Row Attorneys Derek Crownover, Austen Adams, and Cam Caldwell along with Ann Arbor Attorney John Blattner represented the firm at the event. The T.J. Martell Foundation is headquartered in New York, is a national 501(c)3 non-profit organization that was founded in 1975 by music industry executive Tony Martell and his colleagues in loving memory of his son T.J., who died of leukemia. The Foundation has provided more than $260 million dollars for research that supports top hospitals in the United States.
