Dickinson Wright PLLC Combines with Artz & Artz to Form Intellectual Property Powerhouse

DETROIT, May 17, 2007 -- Dickinson Wright PLLC, a nationally recognized full-service law firm, announced today that it is broadening and strengthening its intellectual property practice through a combination with Southfield, Michigan-based intellectual property firm Artz & Artz. The combination is effective June 1. The combination will make Dickinson Wright's IP practice the largest among full-service law firms in Michigan. Dickinson Wright currently has 25 attorneys, including 16 registered patent attorneys and one patent agent, each of whose principal focus is on intellectual property matters. The combination with Artz & Artz will add nine registered patent attorneys to Dickinson Wright's IP practice, bringing the total count to 34 practitioners. Dickinson Wright is also one of the only law firms nationally with its own "IP Academy," where practicing attorneys train law students with technical and engineering school undergraduate degrees to become intellectual property lawyers.
