DETROIT, Mich. (January 28, 2004)—Dickinson Wright PLLC recently announced that Steven G. Howell and Theodore B. Sylwestrzak, formerly partners with Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP, have joined the Firm as Members in the banking and financial services group.
Mr. Howell and Mr. Sylwestrzak join Dickinson Wright to enhance its already strong bankruptcy and commercial lending practice, and to expand existing relationships with the Firm’s clients.
Steven G. Howell is one of Michigan’s leading experts in bankruptcy and commercial lending. Mr. Howell generally represents lenders and secured creditors in workouts, corporate restructurings, and bankruptcy. He represents Bank One, NA, Standard Federal Bank, National City Bank, and Citizens Bank, among others. He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, American Bankruptcy Institute, the American Bar Association, the Eastern/Western District of Michigan’s Federal Bar Association, Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association, and the Turnaround Management Association. Mr. Howell is a past chairman of the Bankruptcy Committee of the Oakland County Bar Association. He obtained his B.G.S. from the University of Michigan (with high distinction) and his J.D. from Wayne State University Law School (magna cum laude).
Theodore B. Sylwestrzak is one of Michigan's leading experts in asset based lending. He is engaged in a practice equally divided among commercial lending, loan origination, workouts, and bankruptcy. Mr. Sylwestrzak represents clients such as Bank One, NA, Standard Federal Bank, and National City Bank. He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, American Bar Association, and the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association where he is on the Committee for Debtor and Creditor Rights. Mr. Sylwestrzak received his B.S. from Northern Michigan University (summa cum laude) and his J.D. from Wayne State University Law School (Order of the Coif, magna cum laude, and law review).
