Construction Law Expert John G. Cameron, Jr. to Lead Webcast

Dickinson Wright PLLC attorney John G. The presentation will address a number of factors that make the law of construction defects and their "ripple effects" more important than ever before: - Financial crisis leads to creditors' actions, and lenders must deal with defective construction - Investors today seek ways to rescind contracts; construction defects are being argued - Modern, complex construction techniques can create a greater risk of error - Designs today are more creative, therefore more difficult to construct In just 90 minutes, a trio of nationally recognized real estate lawyers will describe and define defective construction, and discuss who bears responsibility for what part of the project. Breach of warranty, owner remedies and defenses to claims will be examined, as well as the distinction between building and design defects. The faculty will also address types of construction defects and their causes, as well as remedies, defenses, and peculiarities of state and local laws. Cameron is the planning chair.
