Two Dickinson Wright PLLC attorneys -- Sharon R. Newlon and Michelle Thurber Czapski -- recently authored chapters in books about environmental and insurance law. Newlon is a Member in Dickinson Wright's Detroit office, where she has practiced since 1988. Her practice focuses on environmental law. She contributed a chapter called "Establishing and Achieving Client Goals" in the recently published Environmental Law Deal Strategies: Leading Lawyers on Identifying Environmental Liabilities, Structuring Transactions, and Developing a Negotiation Strategy. Environmental Law Deal Strategies is an authoritative guide to the best practices for doing deals that may have environmental implications. Newlon and a team of experts were handpicked by the editorial board to guide the reader through the environmental lawyer's role within a deal context, including identifying potential liabilities, structuring the deal to minimize those liabilities and negotiating the environmental terms of a transaction. Newlon and the other contributors give tips on conducting due diligence in a way that corresponds to a client's goals and risk tolerance, as well as addresses the nature and complexity of the transaction. Thurber Czapski is a Member in Dickinson Wright's Detroit office, where she has practiced since 1991. Her practice focuses on commercial and business litigation, product liability litigation and alternative dispute resolution. She contributed a chapter called "Helping the Client Make Smart Decisions" in the recently published Inside the Minds: Insurance Settlements and Negotiations. Insurance Law Settlements and Negotiations gives an insider's view on successfully negotiating and settling insurance policies and claims. Thurber Czapski and other partners and chairs from some of the nation's leading law firms were selected to discuss strategies for getting the best terms for the deal and guide the reader through the most frequently negotiated items such as price, indemnity, and the scope of release. Both titles were published by Aspatore Books, a Thomson Business. For more information about Dickinson Wright PLLC, please visit www.dickinsonwright.com.
