Dickinson Wright Attorney Presents on Public Employment Relations Act

James B. Perry, a Dickinson Wright labor and employment attorney in the firm's Detroit office, will present on the Public Employment Relations Act at the 2010 "Partners in Progress: Michigan in Transition" conference. The Conference, hosted by the Michigan Labor-Management Association, will take place April 22-23, 2010, at the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center on the campus of Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan. In his presentation, Mr. Perry, along with other presenters, will provide up-to-date information and insights on recent cases decided under the Public Employment Relations Act and cases that significantly impact labor and management

About the speaker

James B. Perry is a member in Dickinson Wright?s Detroit Office. His area of practice is labor and employment relations. Mr. Perry has defended and counseled numerous employers in FMLA and disability discrimination claims. He has represented all types of employers in responding to Union organizing drives and maintaining Union-Free Status. He has experience successfully negotiating labor contracts with all major unions and defending employment litigation in federal and state courts for a wide variety of employers. He also has significant experience before employment agencies including the NLRB, the Department of Labor and the EEOC. Mr. Perry is a member of the Michigan Bar's Labor Law Section, and has held numerous positions for the Detroit Chapter of the Labor and Employment Relations Association. He is an adjunct professor at Wayne State University Law School, and frequently speaks on labor and employment law topics and issues.
