Dickinson Wright LLP Joins Canada's Law Firm Diversity and Inclusion Network

Dickinson Wright LLP is proud to announce that it has become a signatory to Canada’s Law Firm Diversity and Inclusion Network (LFDIN). Dickinson Wright joins a group of other leading Canadian law firms that have agreed to promote diversity and inclusion within their organizations and in the legal profession.

Shapiro, managing partner of Dickinson Wright LLP’s Toronto office. “It is important that we continue to strive for diversity and inclusion, not only throughout the legal profession, but in Canadian society as well. This is just one step we are taking as a firm to further our commitment to diversity and inclusion.”

According to the LFDIN, member firms undertake to practice and advance diversity and inclusion by:

• Sharing ideas for the promotion of diversity and inclusion in connection with recruitment, retention and advancement within law firms.
• Working with Legal Leaders for Diversity and other general counsel, law departments, business leaders and professional associations in their efforts to advance diversity and inclusion.
• Supporting outreach programs in law schools and the broader community.
• Promoting thought leadership and constructive dialogue on issues of diversity and inclusion.

Dickinson Wright’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee oversees the firm’s initiatives. The overall goal is to ensure that Dickinson Wright’s corporate culture is one of inclusion – at every level and in every aspect of the firm. Through the Diversity and Inclusion Committee, the firm’s leadership recommends and implements strategies and practices consistent with our commitment to diversity. The Diversity and Inclusion Committee includes members of the various Management Groups, several equity members with key client relationships, the HR Director and an administrative representative.
